Chef Profile: Drew Deckman
Drew has a degree in Psychology from Rhodes College, Memphis. He is currently the chef-owner of Athavana in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, as well as being an advisor for Aborigen and the Casa de Piedra winery in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California.
In 2012 he worked as Executive Chef at Costa Baja Resort and Spa in La Paz, Baja California Sur, he was also Executive Chef of the Eastern Pacific Yacht Club and diving master from 2008 to 2009.
In 2009 he participated as a Chef and Sailor of the deck on board a fishing boat in the Gulf of Alaska.
From 2006 to 2008 he was Executive Chef and Wine Buyer at Querencia Golf Club in San José del Cabo.
From June to December 2006 he was Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef of Villa del Arco Beach Resort and Spa in Cabo San Lucas.
In September of 2005 to May of 2006, he was Executive Chef of the production company Odin.
